1. My Fair Lady
I have a soft spot for Jacob since my name, James, is derived form the name of Jacob and I have had lots of similarities with jacob as many of us have.
The wrestling with God part. We all wrestle with God in some way or other I suppose, but as God touched Jacob’s thigh weakening his natural strength and afterwards he limped, so God also weakened my natural strength so eventually I would lean more on the Lord and less on myself. At first that is problematic, but afterwards, it is a great blessing - more of Jesus, less of me - for myself and others.
God bless.
Technically, ‘Joseph’ is an operetta...................
14) He married Leah, then Rachel ... and there was a bit of 'fraud' going on with his FIL, who tricked him into marrying Leah first even though he wanted Rachel. And a couple of concubines. He was definitely spreadin' the lovin' around ...
15) Israel.
16) Hmmm Judah, Benjamin, Levi, Dan, Asher, Reuben (sandwich), Joseph (the colors ...), Gad (zooks), Naphtali, Zebulun (Pike), ... Uh .....
Beautifully designed paintings!
Thanks, Jim, for that moving testimony. You hit a four-bagger.
The entire list of musicals I enjoy:
1. ......................
Naphtali...petroleum....................
Powerful #19 by Bonnat, depicts so well the struggle.
Thank you for the stained glass windows.
Speaking of musicals, I just saw the Broadway Tour of Lion King last Sunday in ABQ, NM, my current stomping grounds. What a delight. Have you guys seen that? If not, I highly recommend it. Incredibly spectacular, creative, and imaginative. You won’t be disappointed.
Don’t think about the cartoon movie. I didn’t care for that but this is nothing like that. The animals’ costumes are incredibly imaginative and the music delightful. The story is way in the background.
You can find the tour schedule online. If you go, go early in plenty of time to find your seats, etc. because you do NOT want to miss the first act which is probably the most amazing experience of the whole musical. It actually choked me up a bit it was so spectacular.
That has a "ring" of truth to it.
Judah ==> Jew and Levi ==> Levites; so obvious I don't need help remembering those two. After that, it gets a bit dicey who I will remember on any given day.
Thanks.
Other similarities. My flesh tends towards conniving and I also have experienced the Leah vs. Rachel thing. Rachel was much better...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naphtha
Etymology
White gas, exemplified by Coleman Camp Fuel, is a common naphtha-based fuel used in many lanterns and torches
The word naphtha is from Latin and Ancient Greek (νάφθα), derived from Middle Persian naft (”wet”, “naphtha”),[3][4] the latter meaning of which was an assimilation from the Akkadian napṭu (see Semitic relatives such as Arabic نَفْط nafṭ [”petroleum”], Syriac ܢܰܦܬܳܐ naftā, and Hebrew נֵפְט neft, meaning petroleum).[5]
#17, #24 ... Jacob is going all out, the Angel is holding back ... God lets us struggle with Him, sometimes it’s good for us. But there’s really no doubt who’s the stronger.
You are very brave—not to mention entertaining—to share your raw answers repeatedly with us. I salute you!
You left out 'Benjamin'.......It's all about the Benjamins..............
